Gramodaya Yuga Kabi Siddhicharan Campus is located in Likhu Rural Municipality-06, Gamnanag, of Okhaldhunga, Koshi province, Nepal. The college takes inspiration from the renowned Nepali and Newari literary figure, Siddhicharan Shrestha, who was born on May 22nd, 1912, in Okhaldhunga. Siddhicharan Shrestha dedicated his life to epic writing and earned the title of the Era Poet (Yuga kabi) in Nepalese literature. His poetry was known for its revolutionary sentiments and a strong connection to nature. In tribute to Siddhicharan Shrestha’s legacy, the college proudly bears his name, aiming to cultivate a similar passion for literature and a spirit of revolution in the education sector among thirsty people for higher education. The institution stands as a testament to Siddhicharan Shrestha’s enduring influence, perpetuating his vision of enlightenment through education.
Background
Gamnangtar, situated along the Likhu River in Likhu Rural Municipality of Okhaldhunga district, serves as a vital educational hub for students, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and engaged in agriculture. The campus plays a crucial role in providing higher education opportunities for females, addressing the educational needs of daughters and daughters-in-law without access to urban higher education. With approximately 250 students and 12 teaching staff, the campus actively contributes to regional educational development. Ongoing construction of campus buildings is anticipated to conclude by the second month of 2024 AD. Despite current limitations, classes are conducted using Gramodaya Yugkabi Siddhicharan Secondary School’s infrastructure, with a commitment to delivering quality education at minimal fees and offering scholarships to low-income students. The campus, supported by dedicated lecturers and professionals, enjoys a favorable reputation with an impressive annual success rate exceeding 80%. Equipped with spacious classrooms, a modest library, internet facilities, and a focus on extracurricular activities, the campus fosters the holistic development of students. Notably, the establishment of a Youth Red Cross Circle uniquely contributes to shaping students’ social attitudes and skills for the competitive world, guided by a team of experienced scholars dedicated to creating a conducive learning environment.

Unique to Okhaldhunga, the campus has established a Youth Red Cross Circle to foster social attitudes and skills among students, preparing them for the competitive world. The academy comprises a team of professional and highly experienced scholars with post-graduate degrees in their respective subjects from TU and other reputable universities. All activities are geared towards creating a conducive learning environment and fostering the personal and intellectual growth of students.

Present Plan
The Campus is currently in the process of expanding its infrastructure and increasing student enrollment. The objective is to enhance its facilities and accommodate a larger number of students. Additionally, the Campus is
committed to offering fee waivers and scholarships to deserving students based on both merit and economic background, ensuring accessibility to quality education. The expansion plan aligns with the growing demands for
trained teachers in various schools and the managerial skills required at local and district levels in education and local development. To support these goals, the Campus has acquired 5 ropani of land and has set the ambitious
target of constructing new facilities, including hostels, laboratories, libraries, and more. These endeavors are aimed at achieving autonomy and ensuring the sustained growth and development of the Campus.
